The Little Moments

Frolicking in the warm glow of a late November afternoon. The heart sings to the tune of children's laughter marking a blissful and balmy Fall day, warm enough still to wear that tank top! The gentle sway of oaks overhead and rays of sun dancing through its branches and playing all around the smiling cherub faces, there's nothing better to remind us - take time to enjoy life and our children!

Today's post is a tribute to my two beautiful children that are a source of love, happiness and pride. As a full time working mother who volunteers on a non-profit Board, hours and days are eaten up with work. But when its family time . . . I try to make it quality time so that those "little moments" will always be treasured. These are some of my favorite moments

You other moms out there, how do you spend that quality time together? Other mothers that live in the warmer South, don't you love taking advantage of our longer and warmer seasons?!

Long Time Coming

Well, the creation of my blog has been a long time coming. I love bloggers and there are so many wonderful blogs out there. I had thought about creating my own for some time now . . . some time meaning thinking about it for OVER a year! But here I am now and have decided to take the plunge. I will officially join the other thousands of bloggers out there and post for better or for worse.

For this first blog I want to thank my husband for giving me the idea. Anyone who knows me knows I L-O-V-E to talk and ramble and veer off said conversational course....as such this blogging is the logical next step, right?! Anyways, besides loving to blah, blah, blah I love anything and everything Southern! My husband told me I had to be a Southern Belle in a past life. Hmmm, I could totally see that. So that's what I'm blogging. Love of the good 'ol South and its gracious living!!!

And how do I know I belong in the South? Well, I love nothing more than big helpings of good 'ol Southern comfort food: Barbeque, Cornbread, Rice and Beans, Pecan Pie, Fried Chicken, Fried Catfish, Fried Okra, fried, fried, fried!! Nothing can quench my thirst like a big glass of ice cold, sweet tea. I think I'd cry if the air around me was never perfumed with roses, jasmine, magnolias, wisteria or the likes of some Southern flower. I love rocking chairs on big, deep front porches and I say ya'll from time to time. I love Southern drawls and Southern manners. But the #1 way this transplanted Northener knows she belongs south of the Mason Dixie line - I just flat out love the Southern people and places. The genteel type of living and ambience the South offers can never be matched! It's a step back in time where life slows, friends and neighbors gather to eat, laugh, live and celebrate life always!

So please join me in Magnolia House and let's share some Southern Hospitality!
